The Orleans Theatre is well off the strip. There really was no murder mystery, but it was an entertaining comedy dinner. The comedy and actors were high energy and funny, although there were a lot of jokes related to sex and body parts which sometimes felt a bit too much. On the plus side, the food served was good. Literally, the room resembled a high school gym. The whole thing was like a high school drama club presentation. We were to mingle to figure out who did the murders, and fill out cards and so on, but the presentation was so lacking that most people just didn't bother. The instructions for solving the 'murder' were very unclear and confusing. Anything happening somewhere else in the room had to be viewed on the screens on the walls of the room. We all had to constantly turn to see the stage and other things going on in the room. I didn't expect 'Death on the Nile' or 'Murder on the Orient Express' but I did expect the show to be a better production.Įveryone was seated across the room at tables facing one another. I think if the show had been billed as dinner comedy theater I would have given it a higher rating, but I was expecting a murder mystery. I know they change the show every three months, so the next evolution may be better.
